I mentioned moving house in my last post, which has since happened. Only got internet connectivity back as of yesterday so i've missed two and a half weeks of trading and charts. Looking forward to getting back into it as of Monday morning.

Time to concentrate and study even more. Reasonably happy with how things have gone so far but have a good few things to iron out before Christmas and the new year. These cold wintry months are the best time to concentrate on doing that.

Hope everyone is well.

Cheers,

Liam
Hello all,

I was away on a family holiday from the 14th to the 20th and took it easy for the end of last week as well. I've decided I won't be posting to this blog as often. Perhaps a summary at the end of each week to log how i'm getting on. I need to put more time into actually trading instead of blogging. Also moving house soon so i'm more than likely going to be without internet for around two or three weeks while the ever efficient phone company transfers the line.

Cheers,

Liam
I don't think i've ever shared any music on here before. Music is a huge part of my life, I gave 4 years of my life to a music tech degree before choosing the trading path. I think i'll start posting some songs for the next few weeks / months that speak to me.

City and Colour - What Makes a Man?

I took several trades today, i'm not gonna go through all of them individually but it ended up with a 1.81% loss on my account. I traded both Cable and Eddie, some based on VSA and some based on Point and Figure. Nearly all of the trades were good, just very poorly managed. If I had stuck to original stop placements and not exited early, all but one would have hit profit. Definitely a lesson learned today. Perhaps most important is that I felt as though I was over trading. I didn't like that feeling at all. A lot more content to sit and wait for the set up that I like.

My head just doesn't seem to be in the game at the moment. I have a family wedding coming up at the end of this week and we're travelling away for that. I'm looking forward to the week off and I think I really need it. I'll still be looking at charts, honing a few ideas and going over the year so far but definitely looking forward to chilling out in the sun for a few days. Also meeting up with a fellow VSAer should be good.

In the chart below there are three set ups, aptly labelled 1, 2 and 3. I took set up 1 but completely missed set up 2 and 3. I didn't even have the trigger marked after the high volume bar appeared. Crazy!

Took a long position on EU today. This trade wasn't trigger based per se, it was more along the lines of "pure VSA". As you can see from the 15min chart an up trend had been established from the early hours of this morning. I saw a No Supply type bar on the hourly chart and I felt there was enough buying in the background for this to continue for a little longer. I was correct in thinking this, but didn't manage to profit from it unfortunately.

From my entry on the high of the NS to the high point of the day there was around 60 pips available. I placed my stop on the low of the NS which gave me a 45 pip stop loss. I moved to break even once I was up about 24 pips. I moved too soon and got taken out on a small retrace.
