Wasn't a lot to report from today. Big dip on Cable in the morning and it just knocked it sideways for the rest of the day. I was looking for a long and whilst it eventually did go long, there wasn't really a signal for me to get in.

Loads of news announcements tomorrow, so could be an interesting day.

Cheers,

Liam
Had a winning trade on Cable today, earned back some of what i lost yesterday. 1.71% to be precise. As usual it would have hit the target but due to crap stop management I got shaken out. None the less, good to put a dent in yesterday's loss.

Trade 50 - GBP/USD - Buy @ 1.6422  Closed @ 1.6438 = +16

Quite a nice set up, this time trading with the over all trend, the test would have been even better if it had volume less than the previous two but it still came good. That chart isn't up to date at time of writing (22:52) but it shows the set up and entry that I took.

Rubbish start to the week with a losing trade on Cable. Attempted a long position which looks ok on the surface but in retrospect wasn't really enough stopping volume or selling climax to turn it. Looking at it now the overall 5min trend was down so it was a risky position from the get go. Wasn't concentrating again. Don't have much else to say really. It was a poor trade and i'm aware of that.

I didn't take any trades today but I do have a few set ups to post. Mainly charts that emphasise the triggers method that i'm using. All of these are great set ups. Just a shame I don't really watch these pairs that much at the moment!

All of the charts are very similar with a widespread down bar from the NFP announcement. Price moves back above the trigger after making a low and then the trigger is tested from above for a great set up.

USD/JPY 5min

S&P 500 5min

That's all for now,

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Wow. It's June already. Didn't post yesterday as I was working and didn't do any trading for the day. As far as i can see, didn't really miss any opportunities. It has been very tough to trade this week, with bank holidays / working and it being an NFP week it has generally been a bit messy.

Nonetheless, I still took one trade this evening. Made a couple of pips but unfortunately my greed/emotions got the better of me and I had much better opportunities to get out of the trade.

Trade 48 - GBP/USD - Sell @ 1.63285  Closed @ 1.63261 = +2.4

As it seemed to be at a bottom of a run I didn't risk the usual 3% that I usually do on such a trade. I sold at market instead of setting an order on the low of the bar. My stop was placed a couple of pips above the high of the upthrust/nd bars. Initial risk was about 1% of my account. I was targeting 1.6300 as a round number and likely target based on it being a psychological area of the chart. Wasn't long before it got to this area but upon gunning for the line it missed the target by two pips. I should have got out once it had rejected this line. Would have covered my loss from Tuesday and a bit more on top. Never mind. Still made a little bit on it!

Funnily enough, if i'd risked the usual 3% and set my order on the low of the upthrust / ND bar, the 3% target would've been hit. Typical really!

NFP tomorrow so will probably be fairly dull for the start of the day.

Cheers,

Liam
